It’s Alive! My Kickstarter

I love these coaster designs.

Barkeep on the Borderlands is live on Kickstarter, and you should go back it right now. It will be useful to any referee, no matter what system or setting you use. While it presents a novel type of adventure (it’s not a dungeoncrawl—it’s a pubcrawl!), it doubles as a collection of taverns that you can plug into your campaign as the need arises (and in fantasy medieval campaigns, the need arises pretty often). Barkeep on the Borderlands will contain the types of elegant rules and procedures that readers of the Prismatic Wasteland blog have come to expect (well, every now and then, at least).

If you are reading this post, you obviously have exquisite taste in OSR and Post-OSR blogs. Over the course of the campaign, various luminaries of the blogging scene will be “unlocked” as stretch goals to write their own bars for inclusion in the adventure. This veritable who’s-who includes Chris McDowall (of the Bastionland blog), Marcia B. (of the chiquitafajita blog), Gus L. (of the Dungeon of Signs and All Dead Generation blogs), mv (of the hypertext corner blog), Ava Islam (of the Permanent Cranial Damage blog), Nick LS Whelan (of the Papers & Pencils blog), Anne Hunter (of the DIY & Dragons blog), Ben Laurence (of the Mazirian’s Garden blog) and Zedeck Siew (of the Zedeck Siew’s Writing Hours blog). And if that is not enough bloggers for you, Ty Pire (of the Mindstorm blog) is editing this project alongside Ava and Nick. And if you are a true blogging connoisseur, you recognize many of these names from the review collective at the Bones of Contention blog. Barkeep on the Borderlands will offer all the variety of an anthology of amazing authors (whom I am happy to count among my friends) packaged into a single, cohesive adventure.

Still not convinced? Well, the art is also going to be of the highest quality! Sam Mameli (aka Skull Boy aka Better Legends) is doing the cover art and art for the coasters (yes, there are going to be coasters), but the art team also includes Jim Hall, Hodag RPG, the aforementioned Gus L., Norn Noszka, Artie Esquire, Connor Ricks, and TorTheVic. Art from each of them is on the Kickstarter page so click on through!

I really hope you like it. Writing TTRPG content on this blog has been a welcome respite from the ravages of the last few years, and I am really excited for something I have made to be in the hands of people who have been reading my post this last year (plus a few months). I hope you are excited too, because we are just getting started.
